In seven days from now I will be in Cyprus. To be more exact Kristoffer and I will head for Limassol and hopefully we will find a nice apartment there. I don’t really know how long we will stay. Time will show.

I have never been to Cyprus before, so it will be interesting to see if its as big a disaster as my trip to Alexandria in Egypt was in march.

Oh well.

As time passes by – and new clients and cases come in I realize it’s getteng harder and harder to actually spend time blogging. Although I like blogging and sharing stuff from my life, I have come to the conclusion that there is only 24 hours available pr. day, and I have to spend most of my available time dealing with clients.

So – for now there will not be much updates here.

What is actually easier updating is Twitter. Add me there, and you will at least be able to follow me a bit.

The essensials on getting traffic (and money) blogging

I just came over the best video blog explaining how to get traffic and thereby money or whatever your goal is that I have ever seen.

Look at the video closely. Gary Vaynerchuk gives it all away here. THIS is how to make your blog or website a huge success.

Enjoy.

It takes 2 cents to GROW a wine show is the title of the show.

Diving into the social networks

Okay. As those who knows me well knows, I’m a guy that gets easily bored. Working with our clints regarding getting them to the top of the search engines for their desired keywords is fine and dandy, but mostly this kind of work is more or less routines – and it’s rather technical. What I have missed in all that is the people-side of things.

So – a while back (a few months) I started playing with Twitter, and later stumbled by Jaiku (now owned by Google). Another service I just started testing out is Pownce.

The whole point with these social networks is to use them as a simple and quick way to keep your contacts posted about what you are doing, blog posts and ask about their opinions. They are also called mini-blogs because usually they have a limit of 140 letters for each posting. So, in many ways they can be compared to sending a SMS.

I actually like a lot the fact that I only have 140 chars available. It means I have to be to the point right away since it’s so limited what I can actually write there.

By the way – you will soon enough find it hard to make a descision on what network to consentrate on – so you might want to check out a little piece of software that let’s you post to most of the social networking sites at once. It’s called Posty and is a little AdobeAir application that runs quite smoothly.

When I have some more experience with all this social network thingie, I’ll make a post about my experiences with it, and how I think it might fit into the marketing mix. So far I like it though.

Blog Lovin

Follow my blog with bloglovin´ is a new blog claiming service from Sweden. I am currently testing it to see what kind of potential it has for marketing.

Jaiku as Google Desktop widget please!

Image representing Jaiku as depicted in CrunchBase

Dear whoever good at programming widgets for Google Desktop.

I ask you kindly: Could you please make a Jaiku widget for Google Desktop so all the rest of us that hates having to have a program running to use the service can get a good solution?

Please?

Anyone?

Hm. I can’t imagine this has not already been made, so if you know where to get it from please leave a comment with the url. I am dying here..

By the way: Jaiku is now open for public registrations – as of yesterday that is. If you are tired of constantly getting error mesages from Twitter, Jaiku is probably what you want to move on to. I know I have not regreted a second since I left Twitter.

Arthemia: Wordpress Magazine Theme Released – Jubel and The Unessentials

It is always a great pleasure to promote good things when I come over them. This time I came over a beautifil theme for Wordpress called Arthemia. The designer of this theme has made a perfect magazine styled theme for WP.

I am most sertainly going to use this theme on this blog, and probably a couple others.

Arthemia is combining a magazine and a weblog into one; it is not too magazine-ish nor too blog-ish. The front page of Arthemia shows the headline and featured post of yours along with the pictorial representation, that’s the magazine style, while the rest of your post will be shows sequentially just like a usual weblog. In the middle of the front page, Arthemia has a nice blue-and-black category bar which will help your readers exploring you site. At the bottom, Arthemia is outfitted with a blog must-have section, a three-list of favorite posts.

NICE Car Company. Electric car. Electric truck. Electric bike. Electric scooter. That’s NICE. :: | Home

I just came over a manufacturer of electric cars that I did not know about. I am seriously concidering buying an electric car, so this looks really intersting. With a price tag of GBP 14.000 for the family model, this could really be my next car. We’ll see.

From NICE’s website:

Impartial advice and the best range of zero-emission, electric vehicles in Europe. That’s NICE. If you are looking for environmentally-friendly vehicles, the NICE Car Company is here to help you make the right choice – from electric cars, electric trucks, electric vans and electric minibuses to our range of electric bikes and electric scooters.

Two very interesting domains snapped

A typical Search Engine Results Page (SERP)Image via Wikipedia

One of Devenia’s main markets is the norwegian market. It was really a chock to me to discover that the equilents in norwegian to search engine optimisation .org and .info had net been registered by any of our competitors.

So – naturally I registered both of them right away.

They are søkemotoroptimalisering.org and søkemotoroptimalisering.info

The .info domain will be used as a sales site for Devenia, but the .org domain I am still not sure about. It could lay the grounds for a seo-related forum or something similar.

Any ideas?
