I have been looking for a way to stop the spam comments that sneak into the WordPress blogs I run. I have tried several different ones, but they all have been «not quite what I was looking for».

It was a relief to read Jeremy’s post where he point’s out a nifty little plugin that stops the perstering of my posts.

The plugin does one simple thing: It closes the posts for comments after 14 days (by default). That should do it I think.

Thanks Jeremy for a great tip :) and thanks to Matt for creating it.

I recently set up another way of preventing spam on my own site, http://www.cjohansen.no. When it comes to beating automated spambots, nothing beats custom protection since the bots are unlikely to be prepared for it.

I read what you did on your blog Christian.

I think I have seen something similar for WP to the math-challenge. Will have a look.

Thanks for the tip though :)

    Hi
I was getting 30 – 40 spam comments every day, it was driving me crazy but I installed the plugin called «SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam» and it stopped .
Worth a try guys made my life easy.

I’m having a problem getting your blog feed to work in the latest IE9, is there a trick to it?
